As we took our seats and settled to watch Hemant and Nandita’s Autumn Winter 15’ collection, the lights dimmed and sweet sounds of country music wafted in the background, and we knew right away that the Wild West would enthral us. The designer duo is known for ensuring wearability and reinventing themes for their inspirations. And so, this time around, the expectations were high. It had to be something new, artistic and fitting for the fall, and so the Boho-Caravan collection was an apt choice for layering options.
The silhouettes leaned towards sharp Western, with Indian gypsy elements interspersed as well. The line depicted carpet-inspired prints, floral thread embroidery, swirling ethnic prints in deep tones like dusky brown, smoke grey, olive green, mustards and dull reds. Fall favourites like capes, cover ups, long loose gowns and maxi dresses dominated the runway.
We also loved the tassels, fringes and fine handmade silver jewellery to top off the looks. The oomph factor was added by the hats – which will need its own dedicated section in your closet.
