Indian designer Gazal Mishra is busy spreading Indian hues in Doha. Recently, the Jaipur-based designer showcased her collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2015. This Rajasthani themed winter-bridal collection had the message to ‘Save the Peacock’. The collection was based on animal-friendly values and depicted the varied cultural traditions of Rajasthan. Also, it had a blend of different traditional styles such as natural tie and dye, art of block prints with a blend of vibrant colours.
“The designs on garments are beautifully decorated by zardozi and gota-patti. I have carved peacock designs on the garments to create awareness about the need to save the Indian national bird – it is a message with a social cause,” said Gazal Mishra.
The show was choreographed by Lokesh Sharma. "It is a matter of great pride for me to choreograph this show and to be the only representative choreographer from India,” said Lokesh.
