It’s difficult to get back on the career wagon for a young mother, but when it’s Aishwarya Rai, the pressure is manifold. She has recently returned to the big screen after five years and we’re mighty proud. But a comeback isn’t an easy feat, especially when young starlets are fixated with style over substance. So the question is, has her style sense evolved? You decide.
Look1: Looks like she forgot her churidaar.
The premiere of the movie might have been star-studded, but AishwaryaRai in this Monisha Jaising kaftan was the centre of attention and not for the right reasons. Cardinal Sin: Wear the sheer panty hose only on select occasions.
Look 2: Finally a form-flattering dress which we like.
She opted for a Gauri & Nainika dress. The dress was definitely the best outfit she has worn outside of her Cannes outings in recent years.
Look 4: Those boots and jacket are just plain hideous.
An ill-fitted Topshop blazer, Promod tunic and Vero Moda skinnies were her choice of separates for this event. The structured tux, while in itself is great, isn’t meant to be paired with anything but broad pants! The Burberry booties were definitely not weather appropriate.
Look 5: Nice length and silhouette, but shiny prints are a no-no.
On a press meet, she donned a Theia Couture dress with Dior pumps and Eina Ahluwalia earrings. Although the filter-less photo makes her look ethereal, it looks like a bling fest in the glare of the paparazzi lights.
Look 6: In what can be best described as a festive nightie.
At the wrap-up bash of ‘Jazbaa’, she donned a navy Manish Malhotra long kurta suit, which she complemented with a berry lip and silver Dior pumps. The dress is good for a house party, nothing bigger than that.
She was spotted in a bodycon House of CB dress paired with a Tom Ford tuxedo jacket (another day, another black blazer), accessorized with Dior earrings and satin pumps from Armani. The bodycon is definitely not flattering for her figure, even though we love the classy colour. Read more about the look here.
Look 9: Bright and lovely, just excuse the boring shoes.
Finally! A bright look on Aishwarya is a sight for sore eyes! Dressed in a Monisha Jaising blazer and printed Turquoise & Gold top, she shows us how you can layer with white.
Although we loved this monochrome rose applique maxi skirt from Nachiket Barve’s fall collection, which was paired with a white shirt on the ramp, Aishwarya’s black pairing managed to kill the effect. But the red lips and silver accessories livened up the look.
