How do they do it? How do models get those amazingly chiselled features? It’s all thanks to two magic products, ladies – contouring powder and highlighter. Yes a little blush won’t hurt either. So if you’ve been thinking that with your face, which has just a little extra fat than supermodels, you can’t get the look, think again. You plump face has nothing to do with it – and as a plus size girl, I should know! Here are three easy steps (tried and tested of course) to create those glistening high cheekbones that you see in beauty ads.
1. Contour the hollows of the cheeks with a matte brown blush that is two shades darker than your skin. Suck in your cheeks to make application easier. Apply it using an upward motion in a 45 degree angle. This will create the illusion of depth and cut the fat (only temporarily though).
2. Apply any matte blush on the apples of your cheek in an upward motion. Again, use a 45 degree angle. It’s important that you use a matte blush because you will use a highlighter next.
3. Finally, use a highlighter. On the upper portion of the cheeks (the skin right beneath and slightly above the apples) apply a highlighter powder. You can also use a pearly blush or radiance powder like M.A.C’s Pearlmatte Face Powder or Guerlain’s Meteorites. Be careful with this step and don’t forget to blend the blush and highlighter – you don’t want two streaks on your face.
