It happens to a lot of women. You think you have just bought the ultimate foundation that perfectly matches your skin-tone. But later, when you apply it at home, it turns out to be lighter than your skin. Before you think of passing it on your bae or trashing it, read on to know three simple ways you can still work with it.
Use it for highlighting: You can totally use your foundation to highlight your face. Apply it to the middle of the forehead, nose and on the upper cheeks. It will brighten up the face. Or, on the top of the cupid’s bow for the illusion of the fuller lips.
Mix a bronzer or dark foundation
Mix a bronzer or dark foundation: You can still make full use of your foundation by mixing it with a bit of a bronzer into it. Or, you can also blend lighter foundation shade with a darker coloured foundation and make a customized palette.
Layer a darker powder: If the shade you bought is slightly lighter than your skin, wear it as usual. However, consider layering a darker powder on top. Or just add a bit of bronzer as a finishing step, targeting the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin.
Mix it with a cream: If you don't mind medium to natural coverage, then add cream into the foundation. It will take down the opacity and foundation will blend more seamlessly into your skin.
