Come winters and my scalp starts acting up. People who have a dry scalp know how embarrassing it is to have those white flakes in your hair. So, I tried a couple of anti-dandruff hair products, a few home remedies, and even professional help to calm down my flaky and itchy scalp. Sadly, nothing helped me get rid of it completely.
However, I got my hands on one recipe that came to my rescue. It's amazing that this epic mask worked for me in just one wash. The best part is this recipe has only two ingredients.
So, the magic ingredient that helped me get rid of my dry and flaky scalp is aloe vera. It contains proteolytic enzymes which repair dead skin cells on the scalp. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair all smooth and shiny. It promotes hair growth and prevents itchy scalp.
Process: The best way to apply aloe vera on your scalp is by removing the flesh from half of an aloe vera leaf and put it in a blender. Then, add two tablespoons of coconut oil and blend the mixture. Also, I want to mention that use only fresh aloe vera for this recipe as the aloe vera gel that is available in the stores is not as good. Goodness of aloe vera is lost in the packaged product.
How to apply: Apply the mixture all over the scalp. I also massage my scalp for 5 minutes to increase blood circulation. Keep the mask overnight and shampoo next morning. You can also keep this mask for 2-3 hours and wash it off.
It made the world of a difference on my scalp. There is visually no dandruff on my scalp.
