Oily skin: Mix two tbsps of multani mitti (Fullers Earth), a tsp of rose water and a few drops of lime. Leave on the face for 10 minutes before rinsing off with cold water.
For dry skin
Dry skin: Mix two tbsps of milk powder with two tbsps of honey. Add a little water to smoothen the paste. Apply and leave on for 15 mins. If your skin is very dry, replace water with either rose or almond essential oil.
For combination skin
Combination skin: Add half a cup of yogurt to one egg white and beat well. Apply and leave it on for 15 mins. Alternatively, combination skin will also respond well to mashed pulp of overripe fruits like banana, strawberries, kiwi or papaya. Mash the fruit thoroughly and add a few drops of honey or lime. Apply and leave it on for 10-12mins.
For skin lightening
Skin-brightening mask: Add the juice of half a lime and the juice of a half medium sized potato to stall the progress of pigmentation. Citric acid rich lime helps to bleach the skin while the catecholase enzyme in the potato helps brighten the skin.
For normal skin
Normal skin: For normal skin types follow this simple recipe for an effective face pack. Chop two cucumbers and mix with half a cup of oats to create a coarse paste. This mix can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Right before you’re about to use it, add in a tbsp of milk cream (malai). Apply and leave on for about 10 mins before rinsing it off with cold water.
