Almost every major skin care brand has a ‘vitamin E’ beauty range in their collection. The reason is obvious – it promotes healthy skin and hair, smoothens stretch marks, lightens acne scars, banishes dry skin, and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Vitamin E is packed with antioxidants which work wonders in the fight against skin ageing. If you go to any local chemist in India and ask for any skin lotion or under-eye cream, they’ll hand you a strip of green vitamin E capsules, and encourage you to apply it on your face. They’re right!
Treat wrinkles: Practically every eye cream has vitamin E in it. The skin around eyes is thin and very delicate and it shows the first signs of ageing. To combat wrinkles, squeeze one vitamin E capsule and mix it with 5-6 drops of almond oil and apply it on the skin around your eyes before going to bed.
Fades scars: Take a capsule of vitamin E and prick it with a needle. Squeeze out all the oil and apply it directly on concern areas. This concentrate works as a serum. It lightens dark spots and scars from the face. Leave it overnight for better results.
Chapped lips: You don’t need any concoction to smooth dry cracked lips. Just cut open a vitamin E capsule and apply directly on the lips.
Soften nails and cuticles
Soften nails and cuticles: Rough, cracked nails and cuticles will benefit from a treatment with vitamin E oil. Simply smooth straight on, or mix in your regular cream and massage it into the skin.
Hair growth: Apply vitamin E on the scalp for healthier, shinier and thicker hair. Mix the contents of 2 vitamin E capsules in 2 tablespoons of warm olive or coconut oil. Massage the mixture onto your scalp using your fingertips in circular motions. Wait 30 minutes, then wash your hair as usual.
Stretch marks: During pregnancy, your skin needs to cope up with a lot. To make the transition easier, mix two vitamin E capsules in 1 tablespoon of coconut or olive oil and apply on the concern areas to prevent and erase stretch marks.
