While monsoon brings to you a welcome break from the maddening heat, it also brings with it a host of hair problems like itchiness, scalp infections, frizziness, hair fall, dandruff and limp hair. So this is the season to give it some extra care. Makeup and hair expert Kanikka Gauraav Tandon lets you in on some amazing hair pack recipes you can try when your hair has had enough of the rain.
Treat Split-ends: Remove the skin and the seeds of a ripe papaya and blend it in a blender. Add half a cup of yoghurt and apply thoroughly to your scalp and hair. Wash after 30 minutes with lukewarm water.
Handle Hair Fall and Dandruff: Soak fenugreek (methi) in water overnight. Grind it and massage this paste on scalp and hair. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash it off with a mild shampoo.
Add Life to Limp Hair: Peel two bananas and mash them in a blender. Pour in a bowl and add threetablespoons of mayonnaise and one tablespoon of olive oil. Mix well and apply on your hair for about 30 minutes. If the smell of mayonnaise puts you off, usetwo to three drops of essential oil to reduce it. Wash with lukewarm water. You can save the leftover mask in an air-tight container, refrigerate it and use it later.
Boost Shine: Vinegar contains acetic acid, which improves the shine and texture of your mane. Add two to three tablespoons of this to a warm mug of water and rinse your hair with it. Leave for about two minutes and wash off with normal water.
