Commemorating the 25 years of her label, Kavita Bhartia infused her Autumn Winter 2015 collection 15’ with signature touches like pastels, delicate embroidery and minimalist silhouettes. Taking inspiration from the 18th century Colonial Tapestries and other architectural motifs, her detailing was clean and precise. We loved the Indian elements – from the ramp setting to the broad strokes of the styling. The voluminous pleated skirts worked well with jackets, textured yarn crop tops, draped skirts and dresses; and the rich threads of silk twisted into sheer styles with exclusive prints bestowing a novel look. Kavita blended in the contemporized silhouettes with resham dori, florals, tapestry prints and paisleys using shaded tones. The colour palette was a staple spectrum for Kavita, who included rouge pink, deep navy, ivory, pale blues and blacks accented with mustard, pale green and electric blue in the delectable collection.
