The five day extravaganza is now over. This is the last function. You are almost exhausted and your best friend is married now. After the big fat wedding and your sumptuous big fat garments, it is time you dress light. Adopt a simple yet stylish look with a top of ethnic Indian wear in it. Do it with a jacket. Yes, you can wear an embellished Indianised jacket in many ways. Let us show you how.

Anarkali: We all love the anarkali suit. But don’t worry, floor-length anarkalis are here to stay. So you can revamp them a little to stand out in the crowd. Pair it with a jacket or an achkan. A slit jacket over a single tone anarkali suit would look great. Pair it up with chand baalis to complete the look.

With pants: Keep it simple and light. After wearing too many Indian outfits you can go for an Indo-western look now. A well-fitted bodice along with an embellished short jacket and pants is a great option. You can opt for pencil pants, cigarette pants or even breeches. If you want to accentuate your look further, add a maang tika. You can use a necklace as a maang tika as well. Besides this, you can opt for a long jacket. A jumpsuit paired with an embellished sheer jacket can also turn heads.

Goodbye short blouses: How about ditching your backless blouse for a jacket? Drape your six yards differently by replacing the blouse. For winter weddings, this is the best choice. A velvet or brocade jacket can be teamed up with any sari.

Lehengas: If you still have some energy left and your love of lehengas is eternal, try a jacket lehenga. You can choose from a sherwani-style jacket, an asymmetrical cut jacket or a floor-length jacket. They all look great. If you want to add height to your frame, then a sherwani-style jacket would be best. And for those who have a pear shaped body, a floor-length jacket would be a better pick.
