Skin tags are basically petite growths on the outer surface of the skin. These mostly occur on the neck, chest, face, nose, armpits, inner thighs and so on.
Skin tags are like those loud neighbours of yours -- harmless yet irritating. There is hardly any pattern of their occurrences, but it is believed that skin tags appear largely because of folds of skin rubbing against each other. No wonder skin experts make a direct co-relation between skin tags and obesity.
If these buggers have been irritating you or someone you know, know how to destroy them using kitchen ingredients.
1. Go for Garlic
Since garlic has heating properties, one must practice caution. The idea is to create heat around the skin tag so that it falls off on its own. To do the same, take a clove of garlic, peel it and cut in half. Rub the insides of the garlic on and around your skin tag. Later, leave a little piece over the skin tag and put a duct tape over it. You might feel a little burn sensation on the skin after using garlic. Change the garlic slice every eight hours and within a couple of days, the skin tag should ideally fall off.
2. How About Apple Cider Vinegar?
Before using apple cider on your skin tag, soak it with warm water so that it is prepped up to absorb the vinegar. Later, soak a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar and leave it on your skin tag. Repeat this 2-3 times a day. The tag will slowly choke itself to death but the process might take a week or so.
3. Try Tea Tree Oil
Extremely acidic and antiseptic in nature, the tea tree oil will not only kill your skin tag, but would help your skin recover, too. The process is simple and just requires you to rub the oil on your skin tag. The tag will slowly dry and eventually fall off in a week. This is like literally poisoning your skin tag!
4. Castor Oil + Baking Soda = Genius!
Castor oil is another wonderful potion to make those skin tags fall off your body. Just take some castor oil and add baking soda to it. The baking soda should be just enough to form a thick paste. Use this paste over your skin tag and leave on for 10 – 15 minutes. Repeat this at least twice a day for a week. Gradually, the skin tag will start shrinking and would eventually fall off easily.
5. Baste in Baking Soda
Baking soda is a fabulous exfoliating agent and will work superbly on your skin tags. To use it to your advantage, mix baking soda with water to form a thick paste. Rub the paste on your skin tag and leave for a while. Repeat this twice or thrice in a day and the skin tag will slowly dry up and fall off.
