We know that you have been speculating. You want to do something different with your hair. Cutting them short has always crossed your mind before your appointment at the salon. ‘Should I (really) cut my hair short?’ is something that always leaves you speechless and you end up having the same old boring looks. Read these 5 points before you let the scissors run all over your hair.
1.Know Your Face Shape: Short hair suits some face shapes but for others, it does the opposite. It is hence necessary to understand your face shape well. If you have a diamond-shaped face or a round face, do not cut your hair short – or too short. For diamond-shaped faces, short hair draws unnecessary attention to your wide cheekbones. For round faces, it accentuates the roundness of the face, which must be avoided at all costs.
2.Hair Texture: If you are wondering how hair texture would affect your decision, be aware that short hair tends to be frizzier than longer hair. Thickness of the hair also plays a pivotal role in this behaviour of your strands. So ladies, if your hair is either thick or frizzy, cutting your hair short isn’t a great idea.
3. Are You Committed Enough? Short hairstyles require a heavy dose of commitment. Your visits to the salon would increase manifold and hence you should cut them short only if you are sure you can maintain the look. Shabbily and randomly growing hair will spoil your look completely.
4. Colour: If you have coloured hair, this isn’t quite the right time to cut your hair short. The coloured strands would look misplaced with shorter hair as they may be cut in a way that the colour looks abrupt. It would be better to have your hair cut short and then coloured.
